Tales From the Tannenbaum, Part One

Part One of a not-so-serious series featuring brief autobiographies of christmas ornaments.

Grumpy
Grumpy

This is one grumpy cat.  Or penguin.  He’s mad because he’s hanging on this tree in a Santa suit instead of eating kitty kibble…or krill?  His arms…or flippers…can’t reach the other branches or ornaments.  He’s suspended in the air, hanging vulnerably in the front, exposed to ridicule and feline activity (he does not know we have no felines, but post-traumatic memories still linger).   He’s in the middle of an identity crisis, not being sure who, or what, he really is.  He’s single, has a bunch of siblings “somewhere out there” and loves having his belly tickled.

Grumpy has made a sacrifice for the sake of merriment in our household.  We like Grumpy.  We will continue to love him and turn that frown up-side-down.  If you come by the house, please be sure to give his belly a good rub.
